Children training with MOVEQ
MOVEQ FOUNDATION

CREATED FOR EXCELLENCE

MOVEQ FOUNDATION

Our mission is to tackle physical inactivity in children and adults (including seniors) and to bring the "MoveQ Intelligent Motion" movement learning to vulnerable target groups.

WE ENJOY SEEING PEOPLE EVOLVE

MOVEQ

FOUNDATION

We are convinced that anyone can develop a lifestyle of healthy exercise with more fun and self-confidence through "MoveQ Intelligent Motion". The MoveQ Foundation aspires to provide its "MoveQ Intelligent Motion" movement learning to vulnerable target groups.

We believe that adults can enjoy doing exercises with almost childlike pleasure and therefore come back for more. Rather than using a variety of machines, MoveQ uses simple tools to make it fun. This way, first-rate work can be done anywhere.

Anyone who is unable to move freely – for whatever reason that may be – is supported by the Foundation to (re)gain their personal freedom of movement:

  • People in a rehabilitation process feel growing mobility and self-esteem, which also stimulates them to do varied exercises outside of their training.

  • People who disliked sports and who have obvious problems with their inactive / unhealthy lifestyle or daily rhythm discover that moving with MoveQ can bring a lot of fun and health gain.

  • Athletes with disabilities realise that there are a lot more opportunities to exercise than they thought possible, thereby increasing their motivation for the sport.

FOUNDATION

OBJECTIVE & TARGET GROUP

GOAL

The MoveQ Foundation has three objectives:

a) Getting as many people of all ages as possible moving with such great pleasure that they continue to do so.

b) Helping deprived people to be (more) self-reliant.

c) Establishing more "Movement Families"

TARGET AUDIENCES

THE ELDERLY

"MoveQ Intelligent Motion" training gives elderly people an opportunity to relieve aches and complaints in their joints, as well as removing movement limitations.

The goal is to make you move in ways that were (temporarily) impossible, thereby increasing self-reliance. You may just be able to do things you thought you’d never be able to do ever again.

CHILDREN

Development of motor skills and cognitive skills for children from 7 years of age. This is especially relevant for families who cannot afford to pay for the opportunity to have their children exercise and/or who have children with special needs caused by:

  • Obesity.

  • Behavioural or cognitive problems.

  • Disabled children (amputation, wheelchair, visually impaired or hearing impaired, etc.)

  • Children with ADHD, autism or other, similar syndromes.

  • Bullying.

We give children and their parents a combination of 3D functional movement and a guideline for mentorship to teach children to be more resilient in the face of bullying.

REHABILITATION

After an accident, illness or injury, there usually is a rehabilitation period. This period often ends once basic skills have been reacquired in an 'ideal environment'.

MoveQ believes that further steps have to be taken, literally and figuratively. To us, self-reliance means 'feeling safe' in less than ideal circumstances involving, e.g., slippery floors, high pile carpets or physical thresholds like a high entry threshold into a shower.

Therefore, we ensure that 'solving emergency situations', such as losing your balance, actually falling and practicing solutions after a possible fall, is an integral part of our program.

RE-INTEGRATING PEOPLE

Being inactive due to stress, burn-out, trauma or addiction often keeps people confined to their homes. Any forms of social isolation and feeling helpless can significantly delay the recovery process. Those who move more and in various ways – where possible in groups – have been shown to be able to return to work more quickly. Not only does the program help with mental relaxation, it also reactivates body and brain functions.

DISABLED ATHLETICS

Knowledge of exercise is all the more worthwhile when people discover how they can improve their mobility and flexibility themselves, despite the limitations of their body.

Therefore, our program deals with matters such as losing your balance, actually falling and practicing solutions after a possible fall – whether you fall from a wheelchair or otherwise.

FAMILIES

We believe that exercise within the family can be an important aspect of social bonding. Playing together and experiencing movement, success and 'failure' stimulates communication and increases understanding of each family member’s abilities. It could help bridge the generation gap.

Within the MoveQ programs, participation by families is stimulated.

A PRECIOUS GIFT

Training with MoveQ is a precious gift. It restores a part of their joy of life.

FOR CHILDREN IN POVERTY

Children who grow up in poverty can use the Jeugdfonds Sport & Cultuur (Dutch youth sports foundation) to join a club. Joining a club can be a huge step for children who feel that they are not welcome anywhere. Whenever parents are out of work we intend to get them moving with their child. Not only will this contribute to their own vitality as a parent (and job seeker?) but it has proven to be a positive stimulus for children to move together with a parent.

A program with Intelligent Motion makes children so enthusiastic that joining a club becomes less of an issue for themselves and their parents. And even if they decide against club sports, they learn how to enjoy a healthy and vital body through varied exercise.

FOR THE MOBILITY OF THE ELDERLY

Besides contributing to vitality and health of people who are not used to regular exercise, "MoveQ Intelligent Motion" can also assist with the recovery to an acceptable level of health and personal mobility after a serious illness. After a major accident or a stroke, you could suddenly lose many of your physical and mental abilities, and these must be built up again. While this means being in medical care in the first place, the rehabilitation phase might be complemented by our program. "MoveQ Intelligent Motion" not only greatly improves the coordination of brain and body, it also leads to faster recovery of cognitive abilities than regular physical therapy or rehabilitation training.

Furthermore, many might require personal support once they have partially regained their abilities. Many (older) people are not sufficiently fit to live independently after a rehabilitation or recovery period following an illness (a fall, a stroke, etc.). Simple things such as going for a walk, using public transport or doing household chores can prove challenging for them. This loss of self-reliance is frustrating and may make it difficult to maintain their social contacts.

The MoveQ Foundation believes that this state of affairs should not be seen as a consequence of old age. Using "MoveQ Intelligent Motion" we have achieved fantastic results with people over the age of 65, most of whom were by no means athletic and felt anything but fit when they started. Thanks to the fun and progress inherent to "MoveQ Intelligent Motion", moving has become a top priority in life for many in less than a year. These individuals are full of vitality again and can lead an active life when they are not required to rest.

FOR ATHLETES WITH DISABILITY

Finally, "MoveQ Intelligent Motion" is perfectly suited for people with physical disabilities. "MoveQ Intelligent Motion" can often circumvent their limitations by finding and using alternative movements or different pressure on muscle groups, thereby increasing the possibilities to deliver a sporting performance. People discover how they can improve their sporting performance and everyday movement abilities, despite the limitations of their body. We have, e.g., trained three golf trainers affiliated with the Dutch Golf Federation. They now train and pass on information about better ways to play to approximately 5,000 disabled golfers with disabilities in the Netherlands.

ACTIVITES AND PROGRAMMES

PLAN OF ACTION

REACHING OUR TARGET GROUPS

The projects of the MoveQ Foundation with different target groups are initiated in cooperation with organizations wanting to introduce their supporters or specific clients to the Intelligent Motion Methodology.

CIVIL SOCIETY

The foundation cooperates with organizations focusing, e.g., on: children who grow up in poverty, long-term unemployed young people and children with a disorder or physical disability as well as older people with mobility loss. Civil society organizations formulate a project that is brought to the attention of funds or funding providers.

CARE ORGANISATIONS

MoveQ programs can be used for care and recovery after an accident or stroke, and they offer sports opportunities for people with physical disabilities. Sport instructors can be trained within just a day to bring a varied practice to the organisation. It is often the ‘Friends of (institution)’ who bear the training costs for employees to be able to use the MoveQ method.

EMPLOYEES OF COMPANIES

The company management determines whether there are people among the employees whose child needs tailor-made guidance due to illness.

Employees would then run a sporting fundraiser in order to fund the supervision for the child (or children) of these employees, or otherwise contribute to a good cause that is related to the disorder. A company in the Netherlands could cooperate with, for example: Stichting Kinderen Kankervrij / Foundation KIKA (Dutch charity foundation funds childhood cancer research), Nederlandse Hartstichting (Dutch Heart Foundation) and similar charities.

Several top athletes are willing to endorse such initiatives with their neutral participation as a well-known athlete.

PROGRAMMES

MoveQ has developed tailor-made training for various target groups, all of which have helped us gain a high level of experience. This has allowed us to establish the Foundation to help provide training to people in a vulnerable position and thus to launch a "MoveQ Intelligent Motion" movement of enthusiastic practitioners. Move Q shows that there are always further creative, enjoyable and healthy ways to be more active and therefore feel more energetic, even when you experience limitations.

FOR CHILDREN

  • Fun2Move 3-5 years

  • Fun2Move 5-7 years

  • Cool2Move 7-9 years

  • Cool2Move 9-11 years

These four programs achieve motor, cognitive & social development through the language of child play. The main objects of playing are fun, challenge, success and health, and generally stimulating the brain. This is true 'learning for life'!

FOR YOUNG PEOPLE AND ADULTS

  • Master2Move

This program is intended to create full synchronization of body and brain. It focuses on training with realistic movements to increase health, well-being and an promote an active lifestyle.

FOR THE DISABLED

  • Inspired2Move

A fun and varied functional training for disabled individuals of all ages, with disabilities affecting eyesight, hearing or movement (including amputations or being in a wheelchair). We also have options for G-athletes.

WEBSITE

The various programs and target groups the foundation is committed to are an integral part of the MoveQ.org website, because we see healthy exercise as a social mission. We want to help those people move who would not be able to do it in traditional ways.
